It was commissioned and sewn shortly after the conquest, nearly a thousand years ago.

Stunning night view of the Notre Dame Cathedral in Old Bayeux. This cathedral had been the home of the historic Bayeux Tapestry which is about 250 feet long, and depicts the history of events leading up to the Norman Conquest of England.
